Arastradero Preserve Visitor Center (in progress)

Palo Alto, CA

A new landscape at the visitor center for the Arastradero Nature Preserve will provide space for native planting, outdoor teaching and education, and improved pedestrian circulation.  As in the construction of the visitor center, where existing wood members found in the preserve were incorporated, the landscape will use salvaged stone at patio and entry areas.  New pervious concrete technology will form better walkways and native watershed plants grown from the facility nursery will provide a variety of demonstration gardens.

Bay Trail

Palo Alto, CA

Working with nearby property owners and several environmental jurisdictions, this segment of the Bay Trail system was designed and constructed near the Ravenswood Preserve at East Palo Alto.  Clean and safe paving material provide an inviting and accommodating trail for pedestrians.  The trail also serves as levee protection to adjacent properties and is sensitive to the marsh ecosystem.
