Julia Morgan School for Girls
Mills College
Project management, design development and construction drawings led to new sports court, social spaces, parking area, native plantings, entry treatment, and vehicle traffic lanes for this private school on the college campus in Oakland. The classroom building was designed by renowned architect Julia Morgan. As the school lacked gathering space and sports facilities, the new sport court and seat walls provided space for day and evening athletic opportunities and school functions. To promote green stormwater practices, pervious concrete was installed in the parking area and driving lanes, allowing water to percolate into the soil and landscape areas rather than draining into city storm lines.
