de Saisset Museum Landscape

Santa Clara University

Parking and loading area behind the museum was transformed into new garden spaces and pedestrian pathways.  Impermeable asphalt surfaces were removed.  The intent was to create a landscape that appeared to have always been there and blend seamlessly to the rest of the historic campus.

Grass pavers were installed in the lawn to accommodate occasional vehicle loading while maintaining a landscape character.  A sitting space is formed by flagstone and salvaged boulders under the shade of a large oak.

Solar House Landscape

Santa Clara University

Drought tolerant plants and grasses and pervious paving provide a new landscape setting for the School of Engineering’s solar house entry to the Solar Decathlon.  The site will also accommodate future solar demonstration structures.
